Monarchs of Mexico
This is simply a trip of wonder! Our itinerary will allow us to visit 3 of the largest butterfly reserves in the world. Each has its own, unique experience. In 2 of the 3 reserves our access allows us to actually walk into the main colonies where millions and millions of monarch butterflies spend the winter. At the third reserve we stay on the outside and catch the clouds of butterflies as they leave the forest, cross the road and drink at a small stream. Our guide will share the natural history of how and why the migration ends up in these mountains. It’s fascinating!
Our lens choices and photographic techniques will allow us to capture spectacular natural history moments. We will see and photograph many amazing views.
Vast main colonies.
The moment the sun hits the trees, and the butterflies peel off to start their day.

Single Butterflies at rest, drinking, on flowers, or gliding through the air. And much, much more.
